Is yarn vegan?
Yarn can be made of any kind of fibre. Yarn can be vegan if it is made using vegan materials, such as cotton, acrylic, nylon, or linen. Vegan yarn will either be synthetic (such as nylon or acrylic) or plant-based (cotton, linen, or bamboo).
Is acrylic yarn vegan?
Acrylic yarn is made of nylon or polyester, so it doesn't include any animal products. We don't stock many acrylic yarns, so most of our vegan yarns are cotton or linen based.
Is cotton yarn vegan?
Cotton is an planet-based fibre, so 100% cotton yarns will be vegan. However, sometimes cotton is blended with another fibre such as wool to make it more bouncy and elastic. If you only want to work with vegan yarns, be careful to always consult the fibre content of the yarn you are thinking about buying.
